A Devotion...to China? The Missteps of CD Projekt, Cyberpunk, and GOG

The launch of Cyberpunk 2077 may be a major source of pain for CD Projekt (and developer CD Projekt Red), but it's not the only one.

No, today, CD Projekt and its subsidiary Good Old Games (GOG) showed a special devotion to staying in the news cycle, by purporting to save Red Candle's long missing horror game "Devotion" before scuttling those plans in the face of requests from "gamers" (or China - depending on how much you presently trust CD Projekt's corporate communications).

Yup. It's been a week for the Polish mega-giant.

Let's dive in.
