Two years ago, the President challenged us to choose another path. He gave the dream of revolutionizing K12 education a voice when he announced ConnectED — a challenge to the government, private sector, and educators to make sure that students reap the benefits of the digital world in every classroom. And he made clear that high-quality digital learning tools needed to extend far beyond the nation’s wealthiest zip codes. As the President said, “[i]n a country where we expect free Wi-Fi with our coffee, we should definitely demand it in our schools.”
