THIS IS A RE-UPLOAD WITH A CORRECTION ON ONE OF THE TESTS.
Check out my blog post here for more details about the system etc: http://philipbloom.net/blog/makingtheswitch/

I am without question a Mac guy and have been editing with various Macs for 15 years. The problem is my MacPro looks great but is getting on and not update-able and the iMac Pro is seriously expensive. The idea of trying a Windows PC is something I have been toying with for a while now.

MSI contacted me and asked if I wanted to try out one of their custom 4K computers. The timing was perfect. So I took them up on it and tried it...

Yes my comparison is between a new PC and a 3 and a half year old Mac Pro, this Mac though is still a currently available Mac (they have yet to update that line) and is way faster than my £4000 top of the range MacBook Pro and full specced out iMac 5K. I can only compare with what I have and whilst it would be great to have an iMac Pro the cost is just too prohibitive for me for a sealed machine with no upgraded potential.

I am in no way leaving Macs as I love how they work too much but I need to have a desperate speed improvement! I use Premiere and love it, I have tried FCPX many times and still just don't get on with it.
