Trying something a little different this time. A demonstration of the Rugged Rx blast diverter/muzzle brake through my Savage Impulse in .308. The device will fit on the .223 muzzle device from Rugged as well so I may do a video of it through the AUG later.
So far, my final conclusion is the blast diverter takes the edge off the report at a distance but not by much for .308. Little to no difference to the shooter and those nearby, however. It also increases felt recoil buy a considerable amount.
The muzzle brake, however, is the best of both worlds: reducing recoil more than the 3-port brake, and seemingly reducing the report at a distance as well. It also produces a friggin rad fireball too
