Here are my thoughts on unit pairings in Genealogy of the Holy War, aimed primarily at a newcomer/casual perspective. Hopefully if any of you guys are interested in getting into the game, this can be a handy reference. And then once you’ve finished the game, you can watch my review which has plenty of spoilers. (This video has no spoilers aside from which units are recruitable in Generation 1.)

Nice list. I agree with a lot of them, but I'm weird with my picks. I don't want to lose any bloodline or lose royalty (like Azel or Jamke) But my main pairings have been the following:
Aideen x Midir or Jamke, but I've been favoring Jamke more over the past few years.
Ayra x Lex, because I have a soft spot for axe wielders, and making my fast sword masters forces of destruction with high strength and defense. Ayra overall has a blessed womb, like you said in the video, not exact words but you get my drift, but your choices of Jamke, Holyn, and Noish are just as good as Lex is.
Lachesis x Beowulf, because it's the only one improves both, instead of screwing one over. Alec, Azel, and Noish have been talked about, but I feel they either don't improve the kids statwise like Beowulf, or just screw one of the kids over.
Silvia x Claude, because I want that staff. The comment at the end about her just getting produce did make me laugh though, but I'm a weird guy that doesn't want substitutes. Only other pairing for her that I would endorse for her is Azel.
Fury is my personal favorite like how Ayra is your personal favorite, but I pick Lewyn because I'm a weird guy that picks the canon confirmed choice. Claude, Azel are the best ones that improve both too.
Brigid is similar to Ayra, in which her womb is blessed. My personal favorite for her is Jamke, and Holyn. Faval is impossible to screw up, so to me, the best pairings are to improve Patty. Alec, Noish, Midir, and even Arden can make it work, but Arden is a last resort or joke run only.
Talitu is Lewyn and Azel only. Some people talk about pairing her with Lex, but bad strength would negate the wrath and vantage skills.

Those are solid picks, given what you're going for. Having to pair up Azelle and Jamke certainly bottlenecks your options... still, Azelle x Tailtiu and Jamke x Edeen is serviceable, if not optimal.

I unironically believe that Arden is Silvia's best (human) option. (Didn't include it here for obvious reasons though, since this video is aimed mostly at newcomers.) The only reason I'd ever do this is for a AAAA run where Sleep Sword abuse abounds in the arena, but it's still a possibility. Lex is stuck with Ayra or Briggid, so Arden would be the only other option for Vantage.

I've done playthroughs with either, and both have their draws and drawbacks. Iuchar seems like he'd be better on paper, but he's a mediocre unit who's blessed with a mount. After thinking about it, I have to say that Iucharba wins, if only marginally.

Iucharba has better stats all around: 1 higher base str, 4 higher base spd, and 2 higher base def. His 10% spd growth compared to Iuchar's 50% seems alarming, but on average, he'll still outspeed Iuchar until level 22 (16 base spd w/10% + 2 promo vs 12 base w/50% + 1 promo). Iucharba has inferior promo bonuses, but importantly he can use bows upon promotion. This is unremarkable most of the time, but the only reason you'd ever use Iuchar or Iucharba is for arena grinding in AAAA ranked runs. Iucharba's bow access lets him cheese certain arena fights that Iuchar would not be able to.

They're both... D-tier units in my estimation, but Iucharba at least makes ranked runs slightly easier because of bow access. Neither will make any battle any easier since they're wholly irrelevant for the entire game. Maybe Iuchar has some applications in some hardcore LTC runs, but I've never been able to find a use for him in any of my playthroughs. Funnily enough, he'd actually be pretty good if he were a gen 1 unit: he's basically Lex but with better bases and growths, and no Paragon. Unfortunately, he's consummately outclassed by other mounted units in gen 2, such as Celice, Arthur, Leif, Aress, Nanna, Diarmuid, and even Oifey.
