This week on TestDrive we're behind the wheel of the all-new 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line. We go over all the features, specs, and details about this new mid-size sedan if you're in the market. The mid-size sedan segment is our favourite size here on TestDrive, although the segment has been on the decline for the better part of two decades now. We're always excited when a new vehicle hits this market, and Kia has delivered with something worth checking out. The 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line AWD is our second from the top trim here in Canada, with all the equipment you can get while having an AWD system. In the United States the GT-Line sits in the middle of the K5 lineup below the EX, however US buyers do have an option package to add the features found on the Canadian model.

We go over all the exterior design elements of this vehicle including the full LED headlights, heartbeat amber DRLs, rear full-length LED lightbar, power folding mirrors, active cruise control, lane keep and lane departure, blindspot monitoring, and the other tech found on this K5. Our vehicle also comes equipped with the 1.6L turbo engine and an 8 speed automatic transmission. Buyers going for the fully loaded GT model will find a 2.5L turbo engine and Kia's new wet 8-speed dual clutch transmission.

We jump on the inside of the 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line AWD to discuss the interior features and design including the updated 10.25" infotainment system, wireless phone charging, wireless Apple Carplay and Android auto, navigation SiriusXM Radio, and a high quality backup camera. Other features include power heated and ventilated front seats with driver memory, rear outboard heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and leatherette seating. Buyers who opt for the fully-loaded GT model will get a colour HUD, a 12.3" full digital gauge cluster, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, and rear seat heat vents in the centre.

We take the 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line on a comprehensive road test to talk about how this car performs, handles, drives, and rides in the winter, along with our real world fuel economy testing. We go over the positives and negatives about this sedan and why you'd want to consider it, along with how it compares to the other mid-size sedans we've tested especially the ones now offering AWD.
