What is acceptable and unacceptable in a society undergoes shifts depending on a multitude of factors. However, we are living in a more and more recorded world—and if censorship is enshrined as necessary, will it apply retroactively to what we used to think? If viewpoint diversity is valuable, it must also be valuable through time, as individuals and societies develop and devolve.
