One of the benefits of moving to bspwm and sxhkd is that now that my hot keys are separated from my window manager, if I want to switch to another window manager after this moving my keys over will only require changing over some of the window manipulation keys. But what if it could be made even easier by using a generic window manipulation tool, today I'm taking a look at a program called xdo which can be used to control windows within any xorg window manager and it allows me to have even less reliance on the bindings built into my window manager whether that be bspwm, i3, dwm or anything else.
