Third in the series of behind the scenes videos for the CNN original series "The Wonder List" in which I talk about shooting the episode with a focus on a particular shot.
The focus on this one is the Freely Systems Movi M5 on the river and trying not to get wet but there is also lots of fun stuff before that including the bit where we actually came quite close to death although the tone of the edit probably doesn't convey that. If it was my edit I would have put the most over the top music to ham it up enormously!
I had the A7s on the Movi. When we went into the grand canyon there was no way I was going to do that on the much rougher rapids. I switch to the Sony RX10 ii in EWA-Marine underwater bag for slow motion and the A7RII was in my dry bag with 24-70mm lens on for capturing actuality on the boats.
Check out the series only on CNN USA on Sundays 10pm Eastern.
