Everyone is flocking to the subcompact crossover segment. Aside from the obvious affordability of this market, these crossovers offer a lot of features for about the price of a compact sedan with the added benefit of AWD and better ground clearance in most cases. This 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ and it's RS twin brother represent the top end trims for this vehicle. Slotted above the Chevrolet Trax and below the Equinox, the new Trailblazer might be on the shopping list for many families looking for something that ticks all the boxes for their needs.
Our test unit comes about as fully equipped as possible with the technology package and convenience package. This vehicle has LED headlights, LED fog lights, a foot-activated power rear liftgate, remote start, keyless entry with push to start, and a two-tone paint job. The interior features an 8" Chevrolet infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, HD Radio, and an HD backup camera. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, heated front seats with leatherette seating, wireless phone charging, a 4" colour information computer screen, and a 7 speaker Bose audio system.
We go over the pricing and specifications of this Chevrolet Trailblazer, including it's 1.3L 3 Cylinder engine, the 9 speed automatic transmission, and what the entry-trims offer for both. Our model is equipped with AWD and winter tires. We discuss how the Chevrolet Trailblazer fits into this competitive segment and why you might want to consider this one.
We take the 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer Activ on a comprehensive real-world road test to talk about the fuel economy for this crossover, the overall ride, drive and handling of it, and how the tiny engine performs on North American roads, specifically for highway driving. We discuss the pros and cons of this vehicle and some of the standout features available on the Trailblazer.
