The Ofala festival is usually an annual festival celebrated by the king of a town. It involves traditional rites to invoke the gods of the land, to thank them for their blessings on the kingdom and to ask for their favour in the future.
It is usually the most grand of all festivals followed by the New Yam festivals. It is marked by cultural dances and masquerade parades.
