Shivworks  The explanation First clip, 7 seconds +300K views The explanation 1 min 5 second… Guessing 2k views. Those who know, don’t need to hear it.  This is not a technique. We are not showing a particular way to deploy a knife. This is not a scenario. There is no contextual decision-making or outline. This is a demonstration; a demonstration is an action showing proof. If you were at a fairground and saw a guy selling knives at a both (you know the guy) sawing on a hammer, he is not advocating for his fine dining cutlery to be used to saw a hammer. He is proving the knife to be sharp through a demonstration. Then usually throws a tomato at the knife and no one ever eats the tomato such a waste.   What are we demonstrating? If you have a short-fixed blade and are confined; having very limited mobility or range of motion. Even the slightest amount of movement releases the knife from the sheath. You will always require greater mobility to deploy a folding knife or a longer blade, compared to the amount needed for a little poker. For those curious about deploying a weapon while connected to another person. We refer to that idea as In-Fight Weapon Access, IFWA. To satisfy IFWA you must control the limb closest to your weapon prior to going for the draw. If the original 7 seconds clip were a scenario (which would seriously be of low training value), we would not attempt to draw the knife. We would try to improve our position until controlling the hand closest to our weapon and then attempt to make the draw. Guess IFWA clips should be put in the pipeline. What do you think?  @southnarc @shivworks_official @bustedearbrian  #shivworks #edc #ewo #training #prepared #wordsmeanthings #wrestling #selfdefense
