➟ Mailroom #52

Firstly, June Mailroom is live. It went up late last night.

There was an Easter egg for 30 secret PEN-15 patches for SubStars/Utreon supporters only, and those patches all got claimed overnight by supporters who were subbed to my personal channel and saw the video go up live last night.

Remember, Mailroom is now going to be solely on my personal channel, and I’m working on content that wouldn’t be appropriate for the main channel to integrate as well. Sub at YouTube.com/JamesReeves if that tickles your nuts.

I received three books written by you, viewers, in last night’s Mailroom. While I will absolutely cook your literature on camera, I also want to support you guys and I’m proud that this disgusting corner of the internet has such an erudite following. Who knew?

To those ends, today, I started a list of books written by you that have been featured on Mailroom (and I included my own favorite books as well). If your book was on Mailroom and you’d like to have it listed, just email me (James@tfb.tv), send me a link to the book on your page or on Amazon, and let me know which episode it was in. The books from Mailroom #52 are on there already. I know there are a LOT missing, so even if you didn’t write the book in question, I’d appreciate tips from viewers who recall episodes where I received hentai/sci-fi/fantasy novellas so I can add them to the list. ➟ Patches

We spent something ridiculous like over $4,000 on patches, postage, and fulfillment in May (which is easy considering there are about 3,000 of you and we pay $4 each for the cheap patches and $10-$20 each for the Secret Patches). TFB asked me to slim down the patch budget drastically. My idea was to eliminate the OD green $60 patch, and I’m going to pay for fulfillment out of my own pocket. Not many of you actually claim the green patches compared to the Writer’s Patch and the secret patches - it’s something like only 1 in every 10 of you claim them, so those probably won’t be missed. Of course, this is now going to put a run on them, but we still have a couple hundred left. It should be more than enough to get one to everyone who wants one, just email me if you meet the minimum and haven’t claimed one yet.

Remember, we now track supporters on 4 different platforms: Patreon, SubStar, Utreon, and YouTuber Members. Thus, as always, we can’t keep track of individual support levels - it’s just too much - we can only verify them by checking the books on the back end. If you have qualified for a patch, email tfbtvpatch@gmail.com and Kelsey will verify you and send you one if you meet the threshold.

➟ Personal Goings-on and Excuses for Late Mailroom

Many of you don’t know this, but back In 2020, I talked with my partners at the firm about cutting my time (and salary) in half so I could split it evenly with TFB TV and practicing law. I can do that because of the support that we get from you all here on SubscribeStar, Utreon, and Patreon. I wanted to take a moment to let you know how appreciative I am for that. I'm having a great time, I'm honored to have the support and the viewership that we have, and it's my privilege to do what I've been doing this year to bring you content that I assume you enjoy.
That said, 2022 has been a hell of a year. We started out in January at SHOT Show 2022, making damn near 100 videos on our newer channel, TFBTV Show Time (https://www.youtube.com/tfbtvshowtime) then March brought us IWA in Nuremberg (yes, we will attend 2023 as well). April we went to Beretta in Italy, and we attended EOS (the European Outdoor Show) in May. Myself and Ryan filmed in June/July for Thunder Ranch, and Hop and Luke went to Sig’s new Experience Center in NH at the same time. Lindsay and I took our annual 4th of July National Park camping trip to the Cascades National Park in Washington (pics here if you want to see: https://www.instagram.com/jjreevesii/) and now I’ve spent all weekend studying for the Mississippi Bar, which is just nine days away. This will be my third bar exam.

Side note, I marathoned the Expanse on Amazon so my life isn’t a living, waking hell or anything, but that’s pretty much all I’ve done that isn’t work or the equally important Q.T. with Linds this year.

My life is a wreck, but I’m having a great time with it and sharing it with you. There are many other things that I can’t wait to tell you about that are on the way.

Anyways, that’s my excuse as to why I’ve been so bad at staying on top of supporter-oriented posts and Mailroom. I’m popping up in the Discord chat room more often these days as well. Discord.gg/tfbtv if you want to join in the private servers.

We are still doing the $30 and $100 patches, the Top Gun Supply and the Blue Alpha promos for supporters (not on Patreon), the private Discord server/chat room, and the monthly Q&As. But we’re always working on perks, so let me know what you guys want from me, Ryan, and Hop and we will try to deliver. I'm always open to suggestions.
