This is a follow on video from finding water in the footwells Well, it took me a few goes, but I am satisfied now that if the vehicle is standing, water is not getting through the footwells or the door seals The vent seals can be compromised by the pressure of the hose, so not a good test – so I had to play in the rain.. Water leaks in Defenders are always a problem. Here are some methods of finding where water can be leaking from and how to prevent further ingress which will cause upper footwell corrosion – very simply with a bit of Dum Dum or strip caulk. I did a video on fitting the door seals a while ago, but I was about to fit these seals and I noticed they no longer fit the foam inserts in the seal which makes the door stick out at the top Good news! Defender door seals – one of my biggest nightmares! You can fit the door nice and flush, but the seal itself is the problem, by holding the door out at the top corners and the bend in the body Do you want flush fitting doors, or a leak free Rover? Water ingress is one of Defenders and Series biggest issues. It can rust out the bulkhead and soak your carpets, so here is a common area for leaking put right using the latest type of seal, also a bit of info on water leaks in the same area.
