In recent years the proposed establishment of a union state between the East African countries of Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Burundi has sparked interest among geopolitics spectators, some of whom have begun to call this future country the first African Superpower, but now plans have changed, and new additions to the proposed federation have been made with the inclusion of the South Sudan and Democratic Republic of the Congo, which some of the original members have taken issue with. Additional cracks have begun to form and leave us wondering is the East African Federation still inevitable?
