With the increased interest in World War One following the centenary and Battlefield 1, Verdun etc., The Bloke follows on from his general video about Euro armies typically wearing their pistols on the left in the World Wars, to a discussion about the exceptions to this general rule, and specificities of pistol use in the British Army in WW1. And, there's a nice demonstration of shooting the "War Shot Standard".

Yes, mirror and lighting. I know. Get over it ;) Only possible angle given the conditions and the flowery pictures on the other wall. Or the kitchen. Either way, that would have been worse...

Photographs used are either public domain (probably or definite expiry of any copyright) or are used under fair use (Art. 10 Bern Convention). Sources are given where appropriate.

About Bloke on the Range

Firearms history, blokesplaining firearms mechanics, mythbusting, shooting sports and kitschy sketches all in one place. An often dry and sarcastic look at whatever takes the Bloke's and the Chap's fancy in the world of guns and shooting.
